Until now, if you wanted to install headrest speakers into a Miata that didn't come with them from the factory, your options were limited. Mazda long since discontinued the boxes so the only options were to scour junkyards looking for the headrest boxes or put some loose speakers in your headrests. However, speakers without boxes or some sort of enclosure don't sound good - and loose speakers in a car aren't safe. Certainly not what you want when you're enjoying some top-down driving!
